Sheena Iyengar on the art of choosing

Hey,

Today we're going to talk about the art of choosing.
I knew we have covered a little bit similar topic before on Ted I forgot whose.
But this woman, Sheena Lyengar, is blind. I figured it out during the middle of the speech when her fingers were flipping on her speech paper.

In the speech she says she did some research on the art of choosing from people among different parts of the countries. And surprisingly, not many were accustomed to American's style of "practicing choices."

Last she shared with us a story about the nail polish and I was astounded by her conclusion that as more choices we have, we seem to be beguiled not by the true quality of the product, but rather the name or the label on it.

We could discuss what kind of choices you have made in your lives.
They could be your jobs, your schools, your rented house, or even your boyfriends or girlfriends.
How did you come to choose what you chose. And what are the criteria when you are making a choice.
What would you suggest when you were asked by others to help them choose.

Sorry for this late article. I have also been in a whirl of choosing lately.

We'll see each other tonight!
