Hi,
For this week's discussion, I would like to focus on something relaxing and mental.
Someday ago, after taking the shower, I looked into the mirror and started to wonder: what's next? At that time I just finished a goal which I set during my college life; therefore, I'm relatively have more free time, which brings me to the topic below.
People cannot live without a goal, no matter trivial or significant, from get up early to plan a one-month trip, they are the goals which drive us to "live" tommorow.
Here comes the first quesiton:
1. what is your motivation now? It could be the one to school assignment, part-time works, full-time jobs, or even some recreation you had in your spare time. what is the force pushing you behind?
2. In psychology, there are extrinsic and intrinsic motivators which trigger people's specific behavior. Now imagine a situation, you are a CEO with many staffs, how would you do to "motivate" someone, let them come up with a better idea? Giving them bonus? Promising offering higher salaries? More vacations? Promotions? Which do yo prefer?

The link above might offer some guideance. But the incentive like "autonomy, mastery, purposes" which quoted by the speaker, is it easy for boss to do than giving bonus? How would you do to transform those motivators into a more practical one?
3. There are two distinctive but intertwined motivators which lead us to the way of pursuing achievement: (1) hope for success (2) fear of failure. Which one do you think plays a more dominant role in yourself? And why you think it is mroe dominant?
(Hint: we can simply tell from the work a person choose.)
(FYI: what is fear for success?)
The next topic, is about your "oasis". Traditionally, it means a place providing
waters for the creature in the desert a place to rest.
4.If we think of the city as a desert, which part would be an oasis for the city?
what is your unique oasis in this metropolis? It could be a physical place where you go, or simply a mental state. The function of "oasis", is to let your mind rest calmly, re-energise your spirits.
5. What is your dreamed city to be? What should be included while others must disappear? For what reasons?(Premise: You must live in that city.)
(Hint: what element is more important to you? Living or entertainment? High tech? Eco-friendly? Night scene?)
I hope that is enough for our discussion, and look forward to see u at KFC!
