7/23 TOPIC II: Friendship in an age of Economics

We are living in an age of Economics, everything we do based on its pros and cons. Most of us, generally, calculate how much we can gain or how much we will lose, even without awareness, before embarking on something. We always haggle with ourselves about if it's really worth it to do so in almost everything.
But....speaking of a friendship or a relationship, do you manage it with the same attitude?

Since we are all creatures of our time and our circumstance, does "Economics" also affect our ideas towards relationships? Do you agree with that friendships have a relation to time that is foreign to an economic orientation?

It is undoubtedly true that consumerism and entrepreneurship are dominant themes of our age. But even in a society filled with egoist, Todd May, the author still challenges us to reflect on our relationships or friendships we hold today.

I would like each of you to think about things below:
1. One of the touchable things that your friends have done to you.
2.What's your opinion about friendship or relationship? Do you approve of that friendship are
outside the mainstream of economics or you disagree with that?
3.What characters you will rank on the top of the list while you chose a friend?

P.s Apologize for posting my topic so late.....and look forward to the meeting on Friday afternoon 3:00...
