An interesting comparison to technology

Hi all,

Among my classmates, I think one of the most popular topics is the i-phone, even my professor is also a fan to it, asking which way to buy it the cheapest. Therefore, the first question I want to ask is

1.Some experiences about i-phone relating to you. Besides, what's the reason you think that i-phone is so popular?

2.Even it is still in debate, I think most of us conisder technology does bring us good. However, it is not a cure-all, there are something technology has nothing to help. can you come up with some? Or is that really can't be done by technology?

This is something beyond my imagination I found on the TED
(http://www.ted.com/talks/lang/eng/kevin_kelly_on_how_technology_evolves.html )

and, I have more questions for you guys

3. Could you list some technological devices which are indispensable to you, and something relatively less important so you can live without them? That is,
try to minimize your use of those instruments, what are remained?

4.For biological evolution, there are 5 attributes-ubiquity, diversity, specialization, complexity, socialization. What is the force to make organism
evolve? What is the force to make technological progress? Are they come from the same origin? And do you think Kevin Kelly's idea on the force to technological evolution persuasive?

5. The speaker says after the Big Bang, we are granted the chance to be different, we have options. Besides, he uses Mozart as an example to show that
we should embrace technology and invent more. The question is, is technology a neccesity to make Mozart a well-known musician? Or what's more essential? Think of some stories you heard against this.

6. Through the talks, he discusses "what technology wants", and I think it is an interesting question asking to you, and the answer is open because we have different interpretation on this question.

This is quite a unique analysis in the video, and I hope everyone can find some questions during that and discuss it on Tuesday.

I am looking forward to see you~
