Hi all, how's everything this week? I'm looking forward to see you Tuesdays, but not to being a moderator. >
This week's topic would be "first impression" Here's a vedio I would like to share
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RxPZh4AnWyk
I bet everyone of you have ever seen it, but maybe we focus on different aspects. For me, I was furious that those judges despised her looking or the way she mannered. Of course, after hearing her performance they changed their attitude, and here comes the stereotype we more or less possess: judge people on the first look.
Therefore, we can think about the questions below and share our opinions:
1. Do you think first impression matters? And why? Can you use your or your friends' experiences to support it?
2. For you, if you are a person for "first impression is important" What would you use to judge that person, appearance or dress ? And why? If you are against to "first impression is important" Can you still share, while you meet someone new, what is the first thing you'll notice?
3. After your first judgment, would you share some experiences on how you alter the attitude on them and why?
4. Probably, it is still a common way judging people on its first appearance, so how would you do to make yourself a good impression on first time?
5. Which occasion do you think "first impression" casts more importance on, business or relationships, why?
6.If you are a boss, would you hire someone because they look attractive? do you know that study shows the good-looking people would receive higher salary than those having ordinary looks, while they share same ability. Is that fair?
If I find something interesting and relating to the topic, I'll post it on here. ^ ^
